Playground Project

Joe and Cindy Betsill from Texas and Carlos Locon Raxtun of Guatemala own a piece of land beside the main river in Jaibalito. AdJ was looking for a place to construct a playground as the children often play in the paths. The Betsills generously agreed to let AdJ use the land.

We obtained a ten year lease for the land and, together with a committee of local community leaders, constructed a playground. The children have two seesaws, two slides, two swings and a swinging tire bridge. Teachers now often bring their classes here for their physical education break.
